The gathered accepted the proposal of Fr. Ivo Tadić that, for the purpose of faster and more organized collection of financial aid, the charitable-humanitarian organization “Kruh sv. Ante Australia ”(St Anthony’s Bread Australia), run by the Franciscans.

After that, with the aim of even better organization, several more meetings were held at which Franciscans, club presidents and individuals borrowed marked blocks of payment slips to record the names and amounts of donors in Croatian Catholic centers and Croatian clubs. The Franciscans also collected money during St. Mass in a special box for those wishing to be anonymous donors. All collected money is paid to the platform “Bread of St. Ante – Australia “. A promotional poster was made for this occasion, and payments can also be made by scanning the QR code on the posters, which is linked to a PayPal account. It was once again confirmed that the funds will go to Croatian Caritas, the central charitable and pastoral institution of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference, which will buy housing modules for the needs of earthquake-stricken families in the Sisak diocese. Fr. Ivo Tadić took over the leadership of this action. A poster is regularly printed in Croatian and English, and the Croatian community is informed and invited to collect aid, especially during St. Mass in the centers.

The sum of all previous donations from the Croatian community through the organization “St. Ante-Australia ”raised: $ 914,500.00AUD.

The money was forwarded: to Caritas of the Sisak diocese $ 404,500.00AUD, to Croatian Caritas $ 424,000.00AUD, Bread of St. Anthony Zagreb $ 76,000.00 and to the general hospital Sisak „Dr. Ivo Pedišić “$ 10,000.00AUD.

It should be noted that outside the platform “Bread of St. Ante Australia ”also collected for this purpose and so we can proudly say, as far as we know, that in Australia for earthquake victims more than $ 1,350,000.00AUD was collected and sent.

However, we did not stop here, but we will implement this action throughout 2021 in order to raise funds and so that everyone who wants to donate can do so, and there are those who are constantly paying for this purpose.

In the end, we should point out and thank all people of good will, donors, Croatian social clubs, Croatian Catholic centers and benefactors who selflessly expressed love for those who need our help the most. The Archdiocese of Sydney joined this action through the “Bread of St. Anthony” platform with $ 15,000.00, for which we truly thank them.

Once again, the Australian Croats showed their love for those in need in the Homeland, for which they sincerely thank them and God’s blessing.

Purchase of a housing module for Mr. Jozo Brtan

At the request of the guardian of the Franciscan monastery in Jajce, the Bread of St. Anthony Australia financed the purchase and installation of a housing module for Mr. Jozo Brtan from Gornji Mila near Jajce, who lived in a dilapidated house and without a roof.

Dario Deleut

The Bread of St. Anthony Australia was assisted by Mr. Dario Deleut from Split who was in Sydney for treatment in 2020 and 2021. Dario had a successful treatment and returned to his homeland.

The Extra Mile

KSA helped a group of Croatian humanitarians who founded “Team Croatia” and participated in a humanitarian cycling event called “The Extra Mile” which was organized to raise funds for the “Cerebral Palsy Alliance” which helps children living with cerebral palsy.

KidzWish

This year, KSA Australia also donated to the KidzWish Humanitarian Foundation, which cares for children with disabilities.
